Provenance is different from ordinary metadata
C2PA Content Credentials are a provenance system designed to convey information about an asset’s origin and history. They can include cryptographic structures, so describing them as simple “AI tags” is incomplete.
What CleanMyPhoto does and does not do
CleanMyPhoto focuses on the supported metadata formats its scanner can read. It does not claim to reliably detect, validate or remove C2PA credentials. Use dedicated provenance-verification tools when credentials matter.
