What we find
Supported fields, shown clearly
Image scanning uses supported EXIF, XMP and IPTC fields. Video scanning recognises selected QuickTime and ISO Base Media File Format metadata. Results vary by format, browser and the file itself.
Privacy-sensitive fields
GPS coordinates, dates, times, camera and device information, software and selected descriptive fields.
Technical fields
Resolution, lens and exposure information, codecs and container properties can help describe a file without necessarily being privacy-sensitive.
Cleaning
Create a cleaner copy, then check it
Photos are rendered into a new JPEG copy, which removes metadata not carried into that render. Supported MP4-family videos have recognised metadata boxes overwritten while their encoded media streams are left in place. Neither workflow is a promise that every possible field is removed.
